2021-2022 AmeriCorps VISTAs
Razija Mehinović, AmeriCorps VISTA
Razija is a Louisville native, and graduated with a degree in Sustainability from the University of Louisville. They first became introduced to Louisville Grows through their internship with the University of Louisville Sustainability Council. Their combined passions for environmental justice, food security and community based initiatives led them to become a VISTA to help build capacity of Louisville Grows. They are excited to be part of the #mightyLGteam!
Charlie Combs, AmeriCorps VISTA
Charlie has lived in Shelbyville for 8 years and is originally from the Cincinnati area, but has spent recent years in Louisville. They went to Bellarmine University and received a B.S. in Environmental Science with a minor in History. During this time Charlie was an intern for Louisville Grows in the Summer of 2019 in combination with Bellarmine’s Live.Work.Lead.Serve. program. Afterward they continued to work with Louisville Grows through Citizen Forestry and many tree plantings. Charlie’s focus on service learning and environmental education reconnects through the Volunteer Coordinator VISTA position here at Louisville Grows. They are looking forward to growing capacity for volunteers to connect with the community, learn from their experiences, and continue to work toward
a more just, sustainable greener, healthier city!
Aubrey Vittitow, AmeriCorps VISTA
Aubrey is from Mt. Washington, KY and attended the University of Louisville where she received a B.A. in Sustainability. Through her degree, she completed an internship with Louisville Grows where she learned about the AmeriCorps VISTA program, and decided to take up the opportunity to learn more about the issues communities in Louisville (and around the world) face regarding environmental justice and social equity. She hopes that for her service year as a VISTA, she will be able to help Louisville Grows build capacity in connecting on a more significant and intimate level with the communities they serve and the people that support their mission.
