Here at Louisville Grows, our Americorps VISTA members #Getthingsdone!

As an environmental nonprofit with a very small staff, the VISTA program has allowed Louisville Grows to grow through their capacity building projects. Over the past several years, VISTA members have helped us increase the number of our volunteers, funders and social media following. They have expanded our reach into the neighborhoods we serve and with other community organizations. Those AmeriCorps VISTAs who have chosen to serve with Louisville Grows have become a vital part of our team.Kedrick Stanfield, Executive Director

Louisville Grows has had the honor of hosting AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers In Service To America) members since 2017. The VISTA members serving Louisville Grows come from various backgrounds with varied skill sets, yet all have the desire to improve the health and well-being of our community through our urban forestry and agriculture programs. They are committed to increasing capacity with Louisville Grows in order to lift communities and individuals out of poverty. With resounding recommendations from our Louisville Grows’ staff, many of our former VISTAs currently work for local nonprofits, have started careers in commercial farming, and even become a part of the Louisville Grows’ staff.
