Allan came to Louisville Grows first as a Citizen Forester then as an intern as part of the conclusion of his Master’s degree program in environmental anthropology. Following his internship, Allan served a year as an Americorps VISTA as Development Coordinator at Louisville Grows before coming on to the team officially as Field Coordinator. Allan plans to continue his education in environmental anthropology in 2021 through a PhD program at the University of Kentucky where he intends to foster his interest in community-level sustainability action, questions of personhood and identity in a world wholly alive, and ways to encourage recognition that humans and nature are not separate categories.
