Ellie is a recent graduate from Centre College, where she studied Environmental Studies and Chinese. She has a passion for environmental justice and is interested in urban agriculture and bridging the gap to sustainable food accessibility.

As a Louisville native, Ellie credits her senior project on GMO’s while at St Francis High School for sparking her interest in reimagining our current food system.

She continued at Centre with coursework in biodynamic farming, and two internships while in Shanghai: the first with Green Initiatives, an NGO  that provides sustainable programming to businesses and community groups; and second, UR Bridge, an organization that empowers rural and urban communities by connecting farmers in the outlying areas of Shanghai to urban residents.

Ellie is thrilled to be on the team at Louisville Grows as they further their mission of increasing Louisville’s tree canopy and community garden expansion. She’s eager to learn about the impacts of urban forestry and work hands-on with our communities for a sustainable future.
