Citizen Forester 101 Training at Park Hill Community Center

Our Citizen Forester 101 Training mobilizes community volunteers to participate in neighborhood reforestation efforts. We provide hands-on education in proper tree planting techniques and leading volunteers during tree planting days. This 5 hour program is led by trained arborists and community organizers in partnership with neighborhood leaders. Citizen Forester 101 training is for individuals of all abilities, from 12 years old and up (minors must have a Waiver completed prior to attendance), and no prior training is necessary. Training is $20, and includes the Citizen Forester manual, lunch and a Citizen Forester t-shirt. Scholarships are available (contact Natalie at trees@louisvillegrows.org for scholarship information). After certification, Citizen Foresters will sign-up to participate in neighborhood tree planting events and co-lead with an experienced Citizen Forester at two planting days prior to leading a team of volunteers on their own.
