Citizen Gardener Training – Feb 4
Our brand new Citizen Gardener Training mobilizes community volunteers by walking participants through the basics of plant anatomy and physiology, assessing land for garden opportunities, plant identification and selection for different garden spaces, and teaches our garden volunteers how to organize, build, and care for their gardens using Louisville Grows’ Community Garden Toolkit. Citizen Gardener training is for individuals of all abilities, from 12 years old and up (minors must be accompanied by an adult), and no prior training is necessary. Training is $20, and includes lunch and a Citizen Gardener t-shirt.
Need based scholarships are available (contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for scholarship information). After certification, Citizen Gardeners will be offered volunteer opportunities such as building raised beds, working on the farm, or assisting in our luxuriously warm and sunny greenhouse this spring.
February 4, 10am-4pm at Louisville Grows office (2509 Portland Ave)
