URBAN GROWERS SERIES 1: GOING WITHIN, DIGGING DEEP
Louisville Grows is excited to offer the Urban Growers Series #1, Fall and Winter Growing in the Ohio Valley. This series is designed for the home, community, and market gardener and will cover a wide range of seasonal topics. Courses are held on the first Saturday of every month with rain dates scheduled for the 2nd Saturday.
The second course on November 7th will offer an overview of biodynamics, tool and equipment maintenance, seed saving, winter root storage, and low tunnels. Each participant will take home a screen rack for drying seeds and a packet of BD Prep 500. A hot lunch will be provided featuring food grown by the Urban Growers Cooperative.
The course is limited to 30 participants; a limited number of scholarships are available on a first come, first served basis.
We recommend that you dress in layers. Waterproof outerwear is ideal. Of course, you might be digging in dirt and handling mulch or compost, so please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. We’ll provide adult-sized gloves, and we recommend wearing sturdy shoes.
