URBAN GROWERS SERIES 1: NEW BEGINNINGS
The course is limited to 40 participants; a limited number of scholarships are available on a first come, first served basis.
Louisville Grows is excited to offer the Urban Growers Series #1, Fall and Winter Growing in the Ohio Valley. This series is designed for the home, community, and market gardener and will cover a wide range of seasonal topics. Courses are held on the first Saturday of every month with rain dates scheduled for the 2nd Saturday.
The sixth and final course on March 5th will offer an overview of cover crop incorporation, tillage, potato, pea, and spinach planting, raised bed formation, and fruit tree pruning. Each participant will take home seed packets and a fruit tree. A hot lunch will be provided featuring food grown by the Urban Growers Cooperative.
We recommend that you dress in layers. Waterproof outerwear is ideal. Of course, you might be digging in dirt and handling mulch or compost, so please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. We’ll provide adult-sized gloves, and we recommend wearing sturdy shoes.
