Louisville Grows is excited to offer the Urban Growers Series #1, Fall and Winter Growing in the Ohio Valley. This series is designed for the home, community, and market gardener and will cover a wide range of seasonal topics. Courses are held on the first Saturday of every month with rain dates scheduled for the 2nd Saturday.
The fifth course on February 6th will offer an overview of seed starting and soil making, bee selection, greenhouse production and vermicompost. Each participant will take home seed packets and more. A hot lunch will be provided, thanks to Blue Dog Bakery & Café, Heine Brothers’ Coffee, and Rainbow Blossom Natural Markets – businesses that share our commitment to local food and community.
We recommend that you dress in layers. Waterproof outerwear is ideal. Of course, you might be digging in dirt and handling mulch or compost, so please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. We’ll provide adult-sized gloves, and we recommend wearing sturdy shoes.
